The village of Chateauneuf-du-Pape in France’s Southern Rhone Valley is home to some of the world’s most legendary and powerful Grenache-based wines. From a veritable cocktail of soil-types, an extensive array of idiosyncratic grapevines flourish under the Mediterranean sun and this evening provides a unique opportunity to taste wines from several legends and modern upstarts side by side. Such Metrovino favourites as Pignan, Beaucastel, Charbonniere and others will provide a vinous snapshot of this special part of the world.
